Yuvraj Singh, who played a key role in capturing India’s 2011 World Cup, retired from international cricket on Monday. Yuvraj took 362 runs and 15 wickets at an average of 90.50 in 9 matches in the 2011 World Cup. He was also selected Player of the Series in that World Cup.

Yuvraj was battling cancer for the 2011 World Cup. However, he did not let anyone know about this. Prior to the quarter-finals against Australia, the doctors had advised them not to play, but they not only came to the ground but were also the heroes of India’s victory. He scored 57 runs in that match.
