The BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held in Mumbai on Sunday. In this, the change in the recommendations of the Lodha Committee has been approved. This decision was taken so that the tenure of officers in high positions can be extended. The motion will be sent to the Supreme Court.
If it is approved, the tenure of BCCI President Sourav Ganguly can be extended. Sourav was elected president in October and his 9-month term ends in July next year.
According to the constitution accepted by the Supreme Court, if an officer completes two years of three years in the BCCI or the Union of States, he will have to take a three-year mandatory break (cooling off period). Ganguly has been the chairman of the Bengal Cricket Board (CAB) for 5 years and 3 months.
