The Supreme Court on Monday ruled on giving permanent commission to women in the army. The apex court, in its order, said that the Center should give permanent commission in the army to all women officers within 3 months. It also clarified that women cannot be prevented from being given command positions (leadership or deployment at the front). The Supreme Court ruled on the Centre’s petition filed against the High Court’s decision.
